Love and Success

We all want two things in life, to be loved and to be successful. We are capable of both. However what is more worth of our attention is what we do when we are not getting one or both. One example is teenage pregnancies. To all of us that want or have children, this is what you can do to minimize those chances:

1. help your kids be successful in school

2. help your children be successful in the family, show them they have a role, that family needs them to be successful as a family, that they are IMPORTANT.

3. have your children be involved in 2 outside activities – one of them physical, so they learn to trust their body. The second one to use their creativity, to bring out the artistic side.

4.MAKE SURE YOU GIVE LOVE.

Three ways how you can show love and affection outside of just saying "I love you" is:
1. Touch…if you do not touch, people believe you do not love them. You can never over touch your children.

2. Use words...of praise, encouragement and acknowledgment.

3. Give your time- time is your life.

And how do you help your children be successful? Children learn to converse and debate from dinner table experience. So turn your TV off, and have a nice sit down dinner where you speak of things you want your child to learn about. Remember, children want to do what you are doing. So if you read, your child will read. There is no reason for your child not to be able to read and count before they go to school. But it is up to you what kind of example you provide for them.

There was one more thing I was told that I find highly powerful. When you tell your children it is bed time they perceive it as they are going to be alone - and feel lonely. To prevent that, instead of telling your child "It is bedtime", next time say "It is storytime", they will look forward to that because they will look at it as getting attention from you, even if it is those few minutes that you are reading the story.

I love kids. So this blog is to all the children in the world that deserve all the love we are capable of giving. Not one deserves to feel unloved.

  1. I agree. You've got a great heart. A couple books people recommended that I liked about how to love your kids on their terms were The Five Love Languages of Children, The Five Love Languages of Teenagers. Maybe they'll help some of your readers.
